Texts From Hillary

The Hillary Clinton-for-President talk is ramping up a full election cycle before she would even run.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi took her wishes public in an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle published Sunday.

"Why wouldn't she run? She's a magnificent Secretary of State," Pelolsi told the paper. "She's our shot," Pelosi added.

This comes on the heels of a Gallup poll that showed that Clinton is within one point of her record favorability rating — she's up to 66 percent, her highest since 1998. And her unfavorability rating — at 29 percent — ties a record low set in 1993. The favorability ratings are more in her, well, favor, than they were as she geared up for a presidential run in 2008. Gallup notes that her favorability rating dipped below 50 percent when mired in a long nomination process against Barack Obama in 2008.

Hillary Clinton favorability

Clinton has been building her "badass" brand as of late — from her embrace of Texts from Hillary to the Colombia party photos to the flirty letter to Jason Segal. She's so popular that even Bristol Palin defended her when The Drudge Report led with a photo of her without makeup.

Speculation is starting to ramp up about a potential 2016 run, despite Clinton's own swatting down of the notion. Over at The Washington Post, Aaron Blake identifies three prominent Democrats: Pelosi, former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, and ... Hillary's husband, President Bill Clinton.

“She’s told you and everybody else that she thinks she’ll probably never run for office again,” he said. “But I’ve been there; I know what happens when you go through this decompression after years of relentless high-pressure activity. And I just think she needs to rest up, do some things she cares about, and whatever she decides to do, I’ll support.”
